Job Description

WHAT YOU WILL DO

This position provide strategic and operational direction and leadership to the marketing and sales teams for the dedicated Business Unit (BU) within a country and the associated commercial and cross-functional teams. The objective is to ensure the efficiency of local product strategies, to lead plans which maximize the benefit to patients and customers and to optimize the value of the product for Takeda.

This role reports to the General Manager and is based in Ciudad de Mexico, Mexico.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

  • Provide leadership in the creation and execution of the annual marketing (e.g., brand plan, marketing programs and tactics) and sales (e.g., education/awareness programs and tactics) plans as a way to meet agreed product and revenue goals.

  • Ensure plans are developed, implemented and monitored in conjunction with relevant cross functional teams and aligned with the global brand strategy. Identify and address local marketing issues/needs quickly and monitor progress.

  • Lead the development of country-level forecasts (e.g., operating expenses, revenue, patient dynamics, supply) for all BU marketed products, along with pipeline products when relevant.

  • Assess and recommend opportunities for local lifecycle management of the brands/BU as a way to optimize brand growth and maintain competitive edge. Oversee development of business cases for new BU opportunities.

  • Deliver local P&L goals and other performance and financial objectives.

  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with the medical community, KOLs and patient advocacy groups.

  • Collaborate with the General Manager, Human Resources and all other relevant functional teams to set annual sales targets, annual incentives, and monitor progress versus target.

  • Collaborate with the Training and Sales Effectiveness teams to ensure BU team members can excel in their respective roles, through proper training on the relevant product(s) and disease(s), sales techniques and CRM.

  • Organize and lead quarterly (or more frequently when needed) business reviews in collaboration with relevant cross functional teams.

  • Ensure sales/marketing resources and administrative systems are effective and adequate in supporting the BU to achieve its short, medium and long-term revenue targets.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

Experience & Education

  • Degree in Health Science, Business, Marketing or similar.

  • Fluent English speaker capable of effective communication.

  • Highly competent in Word, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint and CRM systems.

  • At least 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical companies, with a significant number of years in leadership positions.

  • Significant experience and track record of success in regional/national sales management and/or brand/product management; experience in BU management preferred.

  • Significant experience (at least 5 years) in designated therapeutic area strongly preferred; alternatively, demonstrated success in changing from one therapeutic area to another.

  • Proven ability to leverage knowledge of the market, competitive landscape, and economic forces and translate this knowledge into clear short and long-term strategies.
