Director of Broadline Sales

Indiana Packers Corporation (IPC) is a fully integrated foodservice and private label producer of fresh and processed meats based in Delphi, Indiana (near Lafayette, Indiana). Since the start of operations in 1991, we have experienced rapid growth from a single pork processing company into a multi-plant diversified producer of fresh and processed meats, with locations throughout America's Heartland.

We are best known for our national brand Kentucky Legend (the best-selling quarter-sliced ham in the United States) as well as several well-known regional brands, including Indiana Kitchen, Fischer's, Field, Mickelberry's, Kentuckian Gold, and Scott Pete. We have additional processing facilities in Frankfort, Indiana; Holland, Michigan; and Owensboro, Kentucky.

Summary:The Director of Broadline Sales will partner with top accounts within our organization and will be an impactful contributor to Indiana Packers Corporation's growth strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth with our key customers by strategically executing and achieving sales objectives while collaborating with internal cross functional teams.

The ideal candidate will be required to be a strategic thinking with a deep understanding of the processed food or protein industry. The role will also be expected to identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities. The candidate will have the demonstrated ability to lead negotiations, guide the sales process, and collaborate with internal stakeholders on high profile projects to further progress IPC's growth. A successful candidate will have the ability to build impactful partnerships to build a genuine customer rapport with their exceptional interpersonal and influential skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the continued growth and development of Food Service division.
  • Achieve budgeted volume growth assigned of all branded Foodservice items that fall under Indiana Packer's Corporation.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of company products and their market position and competition to keep business competitive.
  • Fluidity in creating, negotiating, delivering, and leading RFP to grow sale margins and volume.
  • Develop and implement a plan to increase sales and exceed revenue targets.
  • Maintain current client relationship and continue to nurture the partnership.
  • Develop long term new business opportunities to continue the growth of our product line up.
  • Conduct high level research to develop effective sale solutions to new markets and products.
  • Contacting potential clients to establish a strong business relationship with customer's key decision makers and senior management.
  • Create, implement, and execute marketing strategies to further advance IPC's growth plan.
  • Research the latest in the business industry and create new opportunities to expand business.
  • Crafting and presenting influential comprehensive sale presentations.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams such as operations, marketing, and innovation to ensure alignment of sales strategy and growth.
  • Train junior salespeople to improve sales goals and exceed expectations.
  • MandA integration and Due Diligence work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Ag Economics or related field preferred or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in protein and/or food service sales preferably with top accounts in the Broadline sector.
  • Strong history of direct customer relationship management. Both with wholesalers, either regionally or nationally, and corporate retailers.
  • Proven track record of building retail specific programs, acquiring new business, and facilitating growth in existing business.
  • History of effectively leading and directing a broker network.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Be proactive, organized, and able to work under stressful and uncertain environments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and business analytic tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills to be self motivated to meet goals and set priories.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.

Physical Requirements

Work is primarily performed in an office and plant environment requiring the ability to sit, talk, hear, frequent walking, standing, and sitting; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. Ability to use standard office equipment such as telephone, computer, and copier.
