RESPONSIBILITY OVERVIEW This position reports directly to the Assistant Controller within the Chief Accounting Officer organization and is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations across the Americas region. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and other regulatory requirements, as well as establishing and maintaining robust accounting policies, procedures, and systems. This position is also critical to leading process improvement initiatives within the finance organization, including the current ERP upgrade to SAP S4.

PRIMARY ACTIVITIES

Oversee accounting operations and supervise the accounting team across the Americas region.

Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and professional development opportunities to foster a high-performance culture.

Evaluate the adequacy of the existing policies, procedures, and systems, identify areas for improvement and implement changes collaborating with other Regional Accounting Directors to ensure consistency and continuity.

Review the month-end close process and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

Review account reconciliations to ensure the appropriateness of account balances.

Manage the annual external audit process, provide necessary documentation, and address audit findings or recommendations.

Ensure internal controls are maintained through appropriate review procedures.

Remain current on relevant accounting and business practices.

Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to increase efficiency and effectiveness within the general accounting function.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in accounting

10+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 5+ years of management experience

Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting standards.

Experience in ERP and consolidation system implementation, conversions, and upgrades.

Experience in a complex and multi-entity and multi-currency organizational structure.

Strong knowledge of SOX compliance

Expert proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in the healthcare industry

Active CPA license or similar designation

Public accounting experience
