Description of Job
The Work Unit:
Division of Disease Control and Public Health Response (DCPHR)
The Division of Disease Control and Public Health Response (DCPHR) exists to ensure that the Department has the ability to effectively monitor, detect, diagnose, prepare for, and nimbly respond to, all types of conditions and events that impact the public’s health.
DCPHR’s Health Equity Branchexists to expand and promote equitable access to opportunities and resources that impact an individual’s or community’s health and right to be free from communicable diseases and their health effects. The Branch partners with community-based organizations, healthcare entities and local public health agencies in Colorado by promoting health equity and implementing strategies tailored to address the varying complex causes of health disparities that often stem from structural racism or the historical disenfranchisement and discrimination of marginalized groups, including racial and ethnic minorities, low-income populations, and members of the LGBTQ community. Within DCPHR’s Health Equity Branch, the Mobile Public Health Clinic Program (MPHCP)is responsible for bridging gaps in access to disease control and public health services statewide, and rapidly responding to emergent issues.
