Principal Financial Group Senior Asset Management Analyst in Des Moines, Iowa
What You'll Do
We’re looking for a Senior Asset Management Analyst to join our Principal Real Estate team!
In this role, you’ll assist in the Asset Management of a large Private Equity Separate Account focused on investment in industrial real estate. You'll assist the team with all aspects of private equity real estate investment management, underwriting, and production under limited supervision for an assigned portfolio/geographic market. Provide advanced support and analysis for leasing transactions, property re-positioning activities, development projects, hold/sell analyses, acquisitions, dispositions, asset valuation, and capital client reporting.
What you'll do:
Interact closely with Portfolio Management and regional Asset Managers as well as local market contacts including property managers, leasing agents, joint venture partners, and capital markets/transaction brokers, to develop budgets, business plans, and assist with deal underwriting.
Under the direction of an experienced Asset Manager, provide oversight and direction for quarterly valuation and client reporting.
Assist in all aspects of investment management and investment production for assigned properties including core, value add and development activities.
This specific role will support Asset and Portfolio Management efforts responsible for the Investment Management of industrial real estate for a large Public Pension Fund client. The Separate Account includes a team of dedicated Asset and Portfolio Managers who cover all major markets in the United States as well as Europe and Canada. The Account is production oriented with a heavy focus on industrial development.

Annual bonus will be paid out in addition to the base pay range shown in the job description.
Who You Are
Bachelor's degree with evidence of a strong background in finance, mathematics, economics or business and preferably real estate
1+ years (3 or more years preferred) of commercial real estate investment experience
Skills That Will Help You Stand Out
Real estate valuation experience, including experience working in Argus Enterprise
Demonstrate a strong understanding of economics and commercial real estate investment
Excellent written and verbal communication, decision making, persuasion and time management including the ability to prepare and present reports
Ability to operate effectively with a very high level of autonomy and self-direction.
Location: This position will be in Des Moines Iowa and will benefit from a hybrid work arrangement, with an average of 4 days a week onsite.

Travel: Domestic and some International overnight travel is required.

Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$86450 - $116850 / year
Time Off Program
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.
