Caterpillar’s Construction Industries (CI) seek to appoint an exceptional candidate for the post of Marketing Specialist to support the event organisation and administration for their presence at BAUMA, Munich in April 2025. A fantastic, high visibility role that offers a great opportunity for growth and learning in commercial, marketing and event management .

In this role, your mission and primary duties will be:

Support BAUMA Planning team

  • Supporting the CI Bauma strategy manager and program lead with event management, logistical and administrative duties

  • Assisting with the development of senior management and external stakeholder communications including presentation support

  • Assists in detailed project plans including cost, schedule, and resource requirements

  • Provide general support to the Workstream lead

  • Responsible for gathering and developing show reports – pre, during and post reports for stakeholders ie lead management, dwell time on site, # of visitors, # of trade press etc

  • Responsible for CI budget tracking and reporting

Logistics of the tradeshow

  • Working to firm timelines, management of all marketing assets in coordination with Workstream Leads

  • Content version control documentation and management

  • Assisting in the development of international dealer communications

  • Event support for duration of the show, including the set up of the exhibition

Communications

  • Organize internal CI stakeholder meetings

  • Support with development of reports and presentation materials

  • Collating materials required for stakeholder updates

The successful candidate must bring (Basic Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Marketing, Communication or Business.

  • At least 2 years experience in Event Management / Marcom / Commercial

  • Strong attention to detail with demonstrated proficiency in supporting multiple projects

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required to engage with suppliers, internal and external teams across a wide range of geographical locations

  • The candidate must be able to manage issues crossing boundaries or persuade others inside or outside the organization to take action

  • Must have strong writing and presentation skills

  • Willingness to work flexibly and independently, whilst managing multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality

  • Fluent in English

Top candidates will also bring:

  • Experience in Event management and Marketing Project management in B2B

  • An understanding of construction industry, products, technologies, services and its customers

  • Knowledge of German language

Travel:

This position requires up to 25% travel (mainly in Munich, Germany);

  • Less than 10% until August

  • 30-50% August from August to March 2025

  • Approx 100% in April 2025 in Munich, Germany

Salary: £38,500-£46,000 depending on experience
