JOB TITLE: Retail Web Specialist

DEPARTMENT: Museum Shop

REPORTS TO: Director of Retail Operations

CLASSIFICATION : Part-Time , Non-Exempt

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY: Occasional

GENERAL SUMMARY  

Under the guidance of the Director , Retail Operations, the Retail Web Specialist is responsible for driving revenue through a subset of selling channels within the larger retail operation, the largest of which is the e-commerce channel.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS  

  • R esponsible for retail department’s digital presence, setting budget goals and devising strategies for content, merchandising, marketing in the digital spaces to meet or exceed revenue targets.

  • Analyze data to guide decision-making, including a n understanding of retail sales data using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system reporting (Heartland Retail), Google Analytics, and email marketing analytics.

  • Work with the Merchandise Analyst to upload new products, gather vendor images, or produce original product photography to be added to the E-Commerce platform .

  • Collaborate with Marketing Department to create marketing content for email marketing, social media, pay-per-click (PPC), google ads .

  • Analyze profit and loss goals for setting ideal shipping prices and promotions to drive sales and manage shipping cost .

  • Plan and implement sound web strategies such as Search Engine Optimization ( SEO ); metadata, content and keywords .

  • Monitor all website settings to ensure website display is professional, clean, accurate and optimized for sales (navigation, checkout, breadcrumbs, display, markdowns, promotions, coupons, inventory controls).

  • Maintain correct inventory levels at ‘diashop.org’ location in Heartland.

  • Apply DIA values to interactions to support a culture of belonging among internal and external stakeholders.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.   

    QUALIFICATIONS  

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE   

    Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. Three (3) years of experience in e-commerce or website management, with one (1) year in marketing preferred. Additional years of experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.  

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES   

  • Must possess digital product photography skills .

  • E xperience with photo editing software, Adobe Photoshop preferred.

  • Ability to provide information, ideas, and instructions clearly, effectively, and professionally through talking or writing.

  • Demonstrated ability to create digital layouts and copy for online platforms using Flipsnack and/or Adobe Suite software.

  • Experience maintaining and managing a retail website, BigCommerce preferred.

  • Experience tracking new and emerging technologies or sales channels to grow digital revenue streams including social media selling platforms and digital marketplaces.

  • Experience with email distribution software, creating web content and eblasts , Constant Contact preferred.

  • Experience with integrated payment gateways, PayPal and Authorize.net preferred.

  • Experience with shipment software, ShipWorks and stamps.com preferred.

  • Demonstrated collaboration skills to work across departments and divisions internally and with diverse stakeholders externally.

  • Demonstrated organizational skills to plan, manage, prioritize, and complete multiple on-going projects to meet deadlines and goals.

  • Demonstrated research and analysis skills to identify critical information and complete projects and goals.

  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to changes in priorities based on operational need.

  • Ability to identify challenges and opportunities, engage others in their resolution, and recommend appropriate course of action.

  • Must possess a demonstrated understanding of ethical business conduct and professional practices including maintenance and protection of confidential and sensitive information.

  • Ability to work occasional weekend and evening hours for special events.

  • Must be proficient in the latest version of Microsoft Office 365.

  • Must have proficiency in the use of remote work technology such as scheduling with, connecting to, and using digital collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams.

  • Must be able to establish and maintain professional, productive, and courteous interactions that promote positive teamwork. This encompasses going beyond giving and receiving instructions and includes but is not limited to (a) performing work activities requiring interacting or speaking with others; and (b) responding appropriately to constructive feedback or suggestions for improvement from a supervisor.
