Job Description Summary

#TeamAAM is looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Detroit, Michigan!

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer provides direction and engineering support for production, testing, maintenance, and the shop floor. They also test manufactured products to maintain quality, participate in refinement of engineering systems and processes, and resolve or coordinate the resolution of complex technical issues on the assembly line and in the manufacturing process. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer leads technical design, development, and process equipment testing for assigned products. They assist in the preparation of proposals on products for customers, establish processes to eliminate defects, and provides continuous improvement to manufacturing process and product designs.

Job Description

  • Develops manufacturing equipment purchase proposals by studying manufacturing plans and commitments; evaluating manufacturing processes and requirements.
  • Recommends new manufacturing equipment by identifying vendors and operating equipment, including control devices; evaluating equipment capabilities and service history; evaluating vendor service and support.
  • Completes equipment cost projections by analyzing investment, return, and savings.
  • Monitors equipment installations by advising crews.
  • Meets production requirements by designing equipment modifications.
  • Prepares equipment operators by conducting training; providing reference and support resources.
  • Maintains process integrity by developing and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines.
  • Maintains equipment records by filing documents; updating equipment database.
  • Protects organization value by keeping information confidential; cautioning others regarding potential breaches.
  • Contributes to engineering and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helping others accomplish job results.
  • Develop tool and process estimates for ongoing or new business
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant Engineering
  • 5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience
