Job Summary

This hybrid role offers an exciting opportunity to deliver internal audit and risk management services to Senior Leadership. The role involves conducting value-added assessments of financial and operational controls, providing project management support for outsourced internal audit activities, and identifying, analyzing, and communicating risks faced by our client.

Key Accountabilities

  • Plan, develop, and conduct financial control and substantive audits, along with operational audits of new and/or complex systems, operations, processes, functions, and activities within the company.

  • Document and evaluate internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including Sarbanes-Oxley.

  • Conduct special investigations requiring specialized auditing principles and practices.

  • Write comprehensive audit reports and develop presentations that clearly describe audit objectives, scope, conclusions, and findings. Provide value-added recommendations to internal and external stakeholders and conduct draft review meetings.

  • Recommend new auditing techniques to analyze the adequacy of controls and the effectiveness of operational procedures and processes.

  • Coordinate with independent auditors and provide data in support of external audits as needed.

  • Provide support in developing the Risk Register for Senior Management and the Board of Directors. Serve as an internal consultant to business units to support the risk management and identification strategy.

  • Perform risk analysis of significant contracts.

  • Research and prepare internal communications for Senior Management.

  • Assist in developing processes to help the business link strategic initiatives and ongoing efforts to emerging and existing risks.

  • Assist in creating a platform for business units to evaluate and communicate strategic, operational, and financial risks, and assess their impact on the long-term strategy of the business.

  • Utilize risk knowledge to provide input to audit management in developing the Annual Audit Plan and to perform risk assessments for various audits.

  • Work effectively with personnel at all levels internally and externally, including outside accountants and management consulting firms.

  • Provide leadership, analytical, and financial skills on ad hoc projects.

Requirements

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and two years of experience in auditing, financial accounting, and/or financial reporting.

  • Experience with Big 4 and/or public company environments preferred.

  • CPA certification preferred.

Other Qualifications

  • Strategic and creative thinking with strong analytical and facilitation skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to concisely analyze, summarize, and present financial information to large and small audiences.

  • Ability to work professionally with individuals at all levels of the corporation and with external consultants.

  • Preferred experience in financial analysis and modeling.

  • Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Capability to organize work independently and effectively work in teams.

  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and SEC reporting requirements, with experience in a broad range of technical accounting and reporting.

  • Flexibility to respond quickly to changing customer requirements and business needs.

  • Willingness to work overtime during peak reporting periods and adjust working hours as required.
