Manulife Director, HR Business Partner in District, Vietnam

This position is a key member of the HR Leadership Team, providing advice to the management, developing and implementing HR initiatives which support business unit strategies and enable the organization to anticipate and adapt to existing and future needs, improve efficiency, and meet business goals. This position provides HR support to multiple business groups and/or corporate functions.

On the job you will:

  • Partner with business leaders, centres of Excellence and HR Shared Services to execute on current strategic HR plans to increase financial and actuarial bench strength.

  • Facilitating HR functional committees; leads and supports initiatives to drive organizational effectiveness within the business groups.

  • Responsible for ongoing identification of strategic issues and implementing HR policies, programs, and practices to support the attainment of business goals and objectives.

  • Provide HR leadership thoughts through deliverables in the areas of business strategy, employee engagement, organizational development, performance management, talent management, change management and succession planning.

  • Accountable for the effective delivery of Human Resources Services to the business unit.

  • Manage critical HR cycles including the compensation cycle, talent management cycle and the employee engagement survey for both the client group and the functional committees.

  • Provide critical HR specialty expertise to the client group (e.g. Reward & Recognition, Leadership Development, Recruitment & Retention and Organizational Effectiveness).

  • Proactively influence the management style and practices within the client group.

  • Identify organizational or management effectiveness issues and provide consulting support to effect systemic and behavioral changes that require long term commitment.

  • Ensure company policy and legislative compliance for all HR related processes.

  • Educate the organization about HR trends that affect the business.

  • Other duties as assigned.

How you will create impact?

This role provides insight to senior leaders in all areas of Human Resources activities including driving decisions on talent, compensation, organizational development, human capital alignment, and employee relations.

What we are looking for

  • University Degree in Business Administration or Human Resources

  • Minimum of 8 years broad based and progressive HR Generalist and/or HR Specialist experience in a large, multi-national organization.

  • Demonstrated experience in planning and change management principles, organizational effectiveness and reward and recognition concepts, etc.

  • Demonstrated success in team building and people leadership.

  • Excellent HR generalist knowledge and functional mastery in multiple Human Resources Management disciplines: recruitment, performance management, compensation design, organizational design, leadership development and organization development.

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand the strategic direction, mission, values, culture, priorities, and operational challenges for both the business unit and division and the ability to develop and implement effective HR strategies to support these objectives.

  • Good level understanding of the relevant legislation, regulations and policies which impact on the business unit and the effective delivery of HR services.

  • Excellent facilitation, influencing and communication skills; ability to build and maintain effective relationships; and conflict management skills — demonstrated by the ability to achieve results through others.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and discretion to achieve high credibility and trust.
