Ever-Green Energy LLC PLANT FOREMAN in Duluth, Minnesota

Ever-Green Energy is looking for a team member with overall operating responsibility for all aspects of safe, reliable, efficient and in-compliance operation of the plant thermal energy system. The Working Foreman - Production will have overall license responsibility for the facility as the Chief of Plant. Duluth Energy Systems is the City-owned steam plant that has provided the Canal Park and Central Business Districts with stable, reliable heat since 1932. The Duluth energy system provides heating to 165 buildings in Canal Park and downtown Duluth. Minimum requirements to be successful in this role: State of Minnesota Chief A Engineer's License. Valid driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record. Minimum of 5 years of experience operating solid fuel boilers. Strong computer work skills (Microsoft Office). Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Ensure all operating procedures and mechanical repairs are in accordance with current boiler codes and regulations. 2. Schedule personnel as needed to ensure compliant operations. 3. Training of all operators and crafts to ensure compliance with applicable laws. 4. Schedule deliveries of raw material to ensure continuous operations. 5. Oversee the safe reenergization/start-up of equipment and systems 6. Work with Operation Manager to schedule boiler repairs, thermal energy equipment repairs and other maintenance needs. 7. Participate in hiring process, including employee promotions and new hires. 8. Perform other duties as assigned. Plant Foreman (Working Foreman) Accountability 1. Works side by side with the Operation Manager to assign and direct work of the operations team. 2. Communicates with the Operations Manager concerning the status of equipment and other information relevant to operations. The employee is frequently required to have clarity at 20 feet or more; peripheral vision by observing an area that can be seen up and down or two right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point; and sitting. The employee is occasionally required for a use of a respirator; climbing ramps/stairs; climbing ladders/ropes/scaffolding; crawling; crouching; fine manipulation by picking, pinching, or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm as in gross manipulation; gross manipulation by seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hands; foot/leg controls; kneeling; lifting and carrying up to a max of 50 pounds, pushing; pulling; reaching at/below shoulder level by extending hand and arms from up to 150 degrees in a vertical arc; reaching overhead by extending hands and arms in a 150 to 180 degrees vertical arc; stopping, and confined space with limited entry or exit. Must be capable of maneuvering throughout industrial facilities such as energy plants and building HVAC mechanical rooms, etc. Our crews work with the public in a positiv manner, work together as a team, are dependable, and have a sound work ethic. It is important for the person in this position to maintain that level of integrity. This is a union position with an hourly pay of $54.12.
