Job Title: Press Brake Operator

Job Description

Sets up and operates heavy-duty power press to bend, form, stretch, punch, and straighten metal plates, metal extrusions, formed sheet metal, structural shapes, tubing, forgings, and weldments.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate press brake machinery.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

  • Use tape measures and other measuring tools to ensure precision.

  • Perform fabrication tasks including punching and forming metal parts.

  • Ensure all work meets quality standards and specifications.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

  • Adhere to safety regulations and company policies.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with press brake operation and setup.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

  • Proficiency in using tape measures and other measuring tools.

  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.

  • Experience with punch press operation.

  • Strong attention to detail and quality control.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Flexibility and openness to perform tasks outside of primary responsibilities.

  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team.

  • Growth mindset and willingness to develop skills.

  • Attendance and punctuality are crucial.

Work Environment

Mid-size 30-person fabrication shop with paint, press brake, welding, and assembly processes. The company is expanding and adding new customers. Work involves production welding in dedicated welding bays across two buildings. Handles mild steel ranging from 20 gauge to 1 inch. The shift is Monday to Thursday from 5:30 am to 3:30 pm, with potential overtime on Fridays. Offers paid breaks and a 20-minute paid lunch.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dunlap, Tennessee.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
