Job Summary

The Donor Relations Assistant plays a key role in supporting the entire Development Team through critical direct donor support and assistance. This role provides personalized donor assistance through direct communication with donors and constant collaboration with teammates. The ideal Candidate is an exemplary professional with a strong work ethic, excellent customer service skills, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities • Receiving, assisting, and troubleshooting donor inquiries and requests via phone and email. • Process donations via phone. • Provide support to monthly donors in account edits, such as payment type updates. • Handle daily mail -- including retrieval, opening, sorting, processing, and drop-off. • Daily check scan of all donations received at Food Bank's office. • Prepare daily donations transmittal to notify the Development Team of donation activity. • Complete employer matching gift programs' gift confirmations and other verification documentation. • Support maintaining accurate database records. • Assist with gift entry as needed (seasonal). • Prepare gift acknowledgments -- including list pulls, editing, printing, filling, metering, and mailing. • Serve as the primary backup to the Front Desk Receptionist. • File donor documentation. • Manage inventory of development department collateral and supplies. • Collaborate with all functions of Development, including Major and Planned Giving, Grant, and Foundation Relations, and Corporate and Community Giving teams to complete tasks and collaborative projects as needed.

Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree or 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred. • 1-2 years of donor, customer, client, or guest services. • Experience with donor CRMs and other fundraising platforms. • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Exceptional customer service attitude. • Highly organized and reliable -- managing several tasks simultaneously, thoughtfully, and effectively. • Strong problem-solving skills. • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy when entering information into a system. • Sensitivity to confidential and secure matters. • Ability and willingness to work on-site daily, with potential for remote opportunities. • Obtain Act 33/34 clearances.
