Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma Biomedical Engineering Technician I in Durant, Oklahoma
Job Summary: Responsible for maintaining, testing, and repairing patient care and dental equipment, instruments, systems and related technologies to ensure it is safe for all CNHSA hospitals, clinics and wellness centers. You will report to Biomedical Engineering Manager.
Primary Tasks:
Perform and documents preventative maintenance and follow up corrective activities inspections on assigned equipment to include physical, functional, calibration, and electrical safety checks. Perform incoming inspections of all medical equipment items entering the system including new, leased, loaned, rented, physician or patient owned.
Diagnose and correct system and equipment malfunction. Maintain documentation on new equipment, inspections and equipment repairs and failure.
Schedule equipment inspections, use errors, no problems found, cannot locate equipment, recalls/hazard alerts, and alarm work orders.
Schedule and oversee third-party repair.
Schedule formal in-service training programs, coordinates and attends vendor training, and provides follow up training to team.
Identify customer needs and allocate resources to hospitals to ensure smooth daily operations. Serve as a technical advisor to the clinical staff for the safe operation and proper use of medical equipment.
Order repair parts and ensuring levels of spare parts for medical equipment service.
Understand and comply with The Joint Commission (TJC), Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), College of American Pathologists (CAP) and any other applicable standards and regulations.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
Required Education and experience:
Associates degree in Electronics or Biomed Engineering or related field
Willing to attain Certifications in CABT and CBET.
Knowledge of accepted practices of Biomed Engineering and medical equipment management.
Valid Driver’s License·
0-6 months previous experience working with biomedical equipment in clinical engineering environment
