Position Summary
University Procurement and Logistics (UPL) is seeking a Procurement Assistant to perform administrative duties in support of, and as a member of, the Core FlexForce Procurement team. This role will perform administrative functions to support the buying staff in the procurement of goods and services.
Position Duties:
- Support the Request for Proposal (RFP) process by coordinating meetings with stakeholders, distributing RFPs, receiving proposals, collecting and compiling evaluations, and drafting award recommendations.
- Monitor and respond to questions regarding the status of RFPs; escalating when appropriate
- Demonstrate superior customer service and professional communications both written and verbal and represent the department in alignment with university and unit values
- Exhibit a spirit of teamwork and flexibility while consistently working to advance the mission of the University, unit, and department
- Support the documentation of procurement processes
- Demonstrate integrity while maintaining confidential and sensitive information
- Demonstrate dependable, effective, and efficient work performance to meet service level expectations including individual performance metrics
- Present strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize work
- Support the timely tracking and collection of proposals and evaluations
- Work both independently and as a team using sound judgment
- Actively participate in departmental and unit process improvement efforts
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge normally acquired through a high school education; six months to a year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in typing, spreadsheet software and word processing; may require experience as a Cashier/Teller and in bookkeeping/accounting procedures or knowledge of technical or medical terminology and/or technical training related to the field of employment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Associate's or bachelor's degree in business or related field
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
