Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Dynamic Group, LLC. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Regional Director of Sales to join our team. This role involves planning and managing the overall sales and marketing strategies for a collection of six Marriott Select Service Hotels and one IHG Hotel. The primary objective is to achieve optimal occupancy and Average Daily Rate (ADR) growth, maximizing total revenue while meeting and exceeding profit objectives for the entire hotel collection.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sales Coordination:

o Oversee group, transient, and catering sales solicitations and bookings.

o Manage sales automation efforts and develop a regional sales database for email campaigns and customer solicitation efforts.

• Budget Management:

o Develop, recommend, implement, and manage the annual budget and sales plans.

• Market Development:

o Initiate sales trips to key markets, identifying accounts to boost revenue.

o Collaborate with property-based Directors of Sales/Sales Managers for on-property direct sales efforts.

o Conduct outside sales calls, tours, and client entertainment.

• Contract Management:

o Understand and negotiate contract terms.

• Market Awareness:

o Maintain market awareness to predict revenue opportunities and set proactive strategies.

o Monitor top account production and evaluate market trends.

• Leadership and Training:

o Conduct property visits to assess sales leadership and adherence to company standards.

o Train hotel staff to recognize and capitalize on sales opportunities.

o Manage Human Resources within the division, including hiring, training, and performance reviews.

• Operations Knowledge:

o Understand hotel operations and policies, including Sales, Food and Beverage, Front Office, and Reservations.

• Community and Industry Engagement:

o Maintain visibility in local community and industry organizations.

o Attend and conduct meetings, providing training as required.

• Communication:

o Promote open lines of communication across the hotel collection.

• Travel:

o Weekly regional travel with some out-of-state travel is required.

• General Manager Support:

o Act on behalf of the General Manager in their absence and perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications:

• At least 4 years of progressive hotel sales experience preferred; or

• A 4-year college degree with at least 2 years of related experience; or

• A 2-year college degree with at least 4 years of related experience.

• Prior Director of Sales or National Sales experience in small to medium markets is required.

• Valid driver’s license in the applicable state.

• Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficiency in professional selling skills: opening, probing, supporting, and closing.

• Strong analytical skills and strategic vision.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer knowledge.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

• Strong organizational and presentation skills.

• Ability to effectively manage diverse groups of people.

• Advanced knowledge of sales, marketing, and hospitality principles and practices.

• Ability to maintain composure and objectivity in high-pressure situations.

• Competence in financial information and basic arithmetic functions.
