job summary:
Growing manufacturer in East St. Louis is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to add to their team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 3 years of design experience with 2D and 3D CAD software in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency with ASME Y14 or above is required. This position requires travel to KY for one week per month for the first 3 months for training. Excellent benefits are available on day 1!

responsibilities:
Supports manufacturing with new and existing components and designs including solving problems with materials and processes
Leads design reviews for assigned projects and participates in reviews; works with vendors and suppliers to specify new components and select appropriate components for designs.
Collaborates with engineers of other disciplines to integrate components into design criteria
Designs, analyzes, tests, and inspects products and subsystems for performance and reliability
Supports operations to implement and maintain products through the life cycle; works closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Quality to identify and address any issues affecting productivity and quality.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical preferred
At least 2-3 years of industry experience - transportation or machinery background preferred
Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD software design as well as MS Office software
Ability to read and understand specification and standards documents; proficient in interpreting and creating engineering drawings
Familiarity with ASME Y14
GD&T capability
Willingness to travel to KY for one week per month in the first 3 months of employment for training
