An exciting opportunity to join the Joint Venture Compliance oversight team within the International Compliance organisation.
How will you make an impact in this role?
This role provides central support for the development and execution of AXP’s Joint Venture Compliance Oversight framework and the delivery of key Compliance Risk Management program activities for Joint Ventures in EMEA. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Joint Venture Compliance Oversight.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Providing effective support and governance as required for the development, implementation, tracking and ongoing execution of the JV Compliance Oversight Program,
Developing and coordinating reporting and driving continuous improvement to the JV Compliance Oversight Program activities,
Providing independent monitoring, oversight and credible challenge to 1LOD stakeholders,
Liaising with and providing direction to internal and external partners on matters specific to the day-to-day delivery of the Joint Venture Compliance Oversight Program,
Co-ordinating and running Due Diligence activities in collaboration with 1LOD, 2LOD, SME stakeholders, communicating and driving alignment of activities,
Supporting the annual control and compliance evaluation process, compliance risk assessments, compliance monitoring & testing, reporting, and projects as required,
Collaborating closely and effectively with a broad group of 1LOD and 2LOD stakeholders and external partners, including Joint Ventures Compliance and risk management teams to ensure compliance with Enterprise-wide policies and procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
It will be critical that the candidate build strong relationships with strategic partners across the International Compliance team as well as with Control Management and BU stakeholder and JV partners, to ensure effective coordination, alignment and delivery of key initiatives.
Qualifications/Skills:
Experience in a regulatory compliance oversight and/or governance role, or equivalent Risk, Control Management, testing, audit or legal experience
Experience in AML and Sanctions
Knowledge of German or Arabic language an asset
Experience in M&A transactions / M&A Due Diligence an asset
Experience in Compliance Program activities an asset (risk assessments, monitoring and testing) and/or Operational Excellence activities (regulatory risk management/project implementation)
Strong relationship building and management skills, with demonstrated leadership capabilities
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage and drive projects to completion, take on additional responsibilities and prioritise work in a constantly changing and deadline-driven environment.
