ITW Senior Global Trade & Compliance Specialist in Eden Prairie, Minnesota

Job Description:

Primary Objective:

We're looking for a trade compliance expert to manage the daily ins and outs of imports and exports, ensuring everything runs smoothly and in line with global trade laws. In this role, you'll provide guidance on regulations, support MTS’ Global Trade Compliance program, and help safeguard our import/export privileges and reputation as a trusted global business.

Major Areas of Accountability:

  1. Responsible for daily execution of roles and responsibilities, potentially in the following areas related to export/import operations:

  2. Serves as an organization-wide technical resource supporting the resolution of import and export compliance issues.

  3. Investigation and analysis and/or definition of corrective measures to remediate import and export compliance issues.

  4. Participates in the development of global policies and procedures to ensure effective compliance to all applicable import/export regulatory requirements.

  5. Develops education and training to ensure effective compliance to applicable import/export regulatory requirements.

  6. Participates in the development of periodic auditing (i.e. ACE reports, 7501 entries) to ensure effective compliance to applicable import/export regulatory requirements.

  7. Provides support and performs assignments or special projects as needed.

  8. Works effectively with internal customers and cross functional teams for export project deliveries

  9. Ensures proper due diligence throughout work activities

Minimum Qualifications:

• US Citizen

• Bachelor's degree

• 5 year’s experience in trade compliance roles and with import/export responsibilities

• Strong knowledge and experience in import regulations and knowledgeable in export regulations

• Adept with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced knowledge and experience in HTS classification and FTA, especially KORUS

• SAP and GTS knowledge and experience (highly desired)

• Knowledge of import/export requirements to advise business teams and ability to project manage related activities

• Experience with Salesforce

• Ability to navigate ambiguity and piece together information

• Proven ability to collaborate with internal teams and external partners

• Strong problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments

• Self-starter who works effectively with moderate supervision

• Excellent communication skills with a focus on issue resolution

Compensation Information:

The compensation for this position ranges from $87,000-$116,000 based on relevant education and experience.
