Eaton’s ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Quality Specialist.

Are you enthusiastic about manufacturing? Do you have experience in light industrial Quality Processes? Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, this position is responsible for ensuring that the Quality Assurance & Quality Control processes and procedures are defined, implemented, and followed in accordance with the Eaton Quality System (EQS) & ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) and that the products manufactured in the Edmonton Power Center meet the highest standards of quality and reliability

If so, we want you to join our team as a: Quality Specialist . This position will be on-site based out of the Edmonton Power Centre, in Edmonton, Alberta.

What will you do?

  • Quality process improvement: utilizing quality improvement methodology to ensure the production process, product quality and supply chain are meeting the customer requirements, product specifications and internal and external standards. Update standard work, procedures, department forms. Support process optimization and maintain the most updated log in Quality SharePoint.

  • Measurement of Quality processes: By aligning with Eaton’s High 5 metrics: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity, this position works closely with various departments to develop and implement quality control processes, monitor performance, ensure appropriate actions are implemented to protect internal and external customers and drive continuous improvement. Focus on Cost of Non-Conformance (CONC) and how to drive CONC expenditures down.

  • Certification and compliances: Support the Quality Manager in the implementation of Eaton’s Quality Management System & maintaining the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 certification. Identify gaps in the QC process and develop actions plans to close those gaps.

  • Customer Liaison: Provide Customer Quality Management (CQM) support, perform data analysis to monitor warranty claims and perform Root Cause Analysis & Error Proofing for raised issues. Responsible for: tracking & closing CQMs/ EWARFs; maintaining an up-to-date CQM log; assist the Quality manager in developing adequate solutions for customer concerns.

  • Data Analytics: Help Track & report performance indicators of the operation: Customer DPPM, Supplier DPPM, Validation and Test Audit data, Internal Quality Alerts, Non-conforming material quality, external component quality alerts, and others as needed.

  • Perform all job functions with adherence to Eaton’s Philosophy and Values, as well as Safety and Environmental standards.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• 4 years’ bachelor’s degree in engineering or business from an accredited institution.

• 5 years’ or greater of quality experience in a manufacturing or operations environment.

• Be legally authorized to work in Canada without the sponsorship of a company.

• Only candidates residing within an 80 km radius of Edmonton will be considered for this position. No moving (relocation) is offered for this position.

Preferred qualifications:

• Certified Internal Quality Auditor.

• Registered as an EIT with APEGA or equivalent.

What will make you successful?

The ideal candidate will have a basic knowledge of quality systems and processes in a manufacturing facility and a willingness to learn. The candidate should be comfortable working at a desk but also working on the shop floor with front line employees to discuss quality issues and implement new processes where required.

Experience as a quality auditor will help you are you perform required audits and ensure that we are developing a quality program that is best in class (operating for growth).

An excellent verbal and written communicator with experience in presenting to front line employees. Along with the proven ability to use computers and various types of software to drive data analyses are highly valued.
