The Software Developer works within a team or individually to write, review, and debug code that supports and maintains current or new development projects. They participate in or lead estimation, design, and planning activities.
Here's how a Software Developer for our Edmonton NAHQ office contributes to our team:
Responsibilities
• Responding to tier-three requests for technical support.
• Following and finding opportunities for process improvement.
• Investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving bugs.
• Maintaining, enhancing, and performing technology upgrades on custom-built applications.
• Communicating project progress throughout development.
• Breaking down architectural designs into development tasks and estimating the time required for development tasks.
• Creating and executing unit tests.
• Researching and recommending new trending technologies, enhancements, and best practices.
• Developing and maintaining strong, customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders.
• Assisting with the creation of technical and nontechnical reports.
• Most of your development and testing work will be done in the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations platform
• Working to support and enhance our construction management solution, driving our core business.
Qualifications
• Postsecondary degree or diploma in computer technology or a related discipline.
• 0 - 2 years of experience, entry level applicants encouraged to apply.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts clearly and concisely.
• Ability to think logically and analytically, and to constructively express ideas and concepts.
• Organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize own work.
• Ability to work independently and in a team by collaborating to solve problems.
• Proficient with:
X++ and D365 for Finance & Operations development OR
Web-based development using C#, ASP.Net MVC, ASP.Net Core MVC, Angular 8+, TypeScript, JavaScript, and JQuery
• Experience or Exposure to Azure Services such as App Services, SQL Databases, Function Apps, and Storage accounts.
• Proficient with ADO.Net, ADO.Net Core, and ADO. Net Entity Framework.
• Proficient with SQL Server databases and transact SQL.
• Basic understanding of process methodologies (e.g., scrum, XP, lean, and agile).
