Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in El Cajon, California
Description
Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract or contract-to-hire basis. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient processing of vendor invoices and payments, contributing to the smooth operation of our clients' financial departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and verify invoices and check requests
Sort, code, and match invoices
Set invoices up for payment
Enter and upload invoices into the system
Track expenses and process expense reports
Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments
Reconcile accounts payable transactions
Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
Maintain vendor files
Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
Produce monthly reports
Assist with month-end closing
Provide supporting documentation for audits
Requirements
Proven working experience as Accounts Payable Specialist or similar role
Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles
Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records
Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
Proficiency in MS Office
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Associate’s degree or relevant certification preferred; additional education and experience a plus
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
