    What you'll be doing:

  • Willingness to work at all Savage surface operations in Carbon/Emery area on any given day.

  • Shifts are rotating with different schedules between days, nights, weekends, & holidays.

  • Be Proficient in Operating Heavy Equipment.

  • Understand Pile identity per customer.

  • Stagger break time to maintain coverage in the yard.

  • Assist with worksite tasks "outside of operating equipment" including but not limited to hand labor, repairs, equipment maintenance, and general worksite clean-up

  • Pre shifts on equipment.

  • Minimize truck delay/yard efficiency.

  • Maintain worksite cleanliness (daily) which includes, but not limited to: scheduled/unscheduled worksite duties; wash equipment & systems, grease equipment & systems, shovel coal spills.

  • Maintain MSHA standards throughout all yards.

  • Complete all other worksite duties as assigned by direct supervisor to get the work done

  • Willingness to receive and follow directions from site Manager.

  • Demonstrates a desire to work with others to get the job done

  • Committed to working safely at all times.

  • Completes all tasks as assigned by the site Manager.

  • Demonstrates commitment to the operation by being punctual and working the designated work schedule

  • Understands the importance of and demonstrates good communication skills with Savage customers and employees

  • Demonstrates a desire to acquire the necessary skills to do the job safely and in a way that adds value to our customer/operation.

  • Customer Service / Professional communication.

  • SHAPS (Hazard Identification/Observations).

  • Shift Coverage for Volume changes or vacation.

    What you'll need:

  • Willingness to help with all worksite duties that require attention, as directed by the site operations manager.

  • Demonstrates worksite dependability by being punctual and present for scheduled work shifts

  • Determined to always wear the appropriate and required PPE

  • Conducts themselves in a professional manner at all times

  • Demonstrates excellent workplace safety, and is dedicated to helping other do the same

  • Willingness and ability to follow all rules and procedures as outlines by Savage

  • Willingness and ability to work Holidays and weekends

  • Able to follow written and/or verbal instructions with minimal supervision

  • Able to communicate effectively in English which includes basic skills in reading, writing, and comprehension:

    Physical Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work outdoors in varying conditions subject to all elements

  • Ability to lift 50-70 lbs

  • Climb on and off railcars and heavy equipment and tie processing equipment safely

  • Work 40 plus hours (possible weekends)

  • Work on uneven ballast surfaces for long periods of time while performing duties which include walking, standing, and lifting

  • Able to use basic hand tools
