Responsibilities

The Corporate Responsibility Program (CRP) Physician Contract Administrator is responsible for administering ContractLifecycle Management (CLM) processes, policies and procedures to promote compliance with policies, applicable laws and regulation. Contract Administrator conducts physician transaction compensation review as per CSH policies and procedures. This position requires an understanding of the CommonSpirit Health (CSH) enterprise, region and market business and operational practices to provide high level support of the CLM process. Close collaboration with key stakeholders including Legal Team, Provider Compensation, contract business owners, contract submitters and other CRP members is integral. The Physician Contract Administrator may provide support for all,. one or more System functions, regions and markets, as assigned.

  • Facilitates the progression of a proposed Physician Transactions through CSH’s internal review process, confirming physician requests are accompanied by necessary documentation and are complete

  • Responsibilities include reviewing contract terms, physician compensation against benchmarks, fair market value, wRVU’s (Work Relative Value Units), as well as compliance, business and legal concerns.

  • Prepares and provides education on CSH’s physician transaction policy, CLM policy, solutions and procedures.

  • Organizes and maintains contract database(s).

  • Maintains access to the contract management system, ensuring appropriate permissions are maintained

  • Identifies opportunities to improve the CLM processes, specifically concerning the physician transaction policy, CLM policy, contracts master data and contracts database administration. Actively engages in implementing these improvements.

  • Prepares and delivers reports and other communications related to CLM processes and solutions to improve compliance.

  • Supports ongoing monitoring and auditing of contracts to ensure compliance with all policies, applicable laws and regulations. Assists both internal and external auditors to conduct audits related to CLM and CLM solutions.

  • Collaborates with management to develop, implement, and oversee ongoing education pertaining to physician transaction policy, CLM and contract database(s) management.

  • Identifies and investigates matters related to physician transactions, CLM, contract database(s) and other CSH policies under the supervision of CRP management.

  • Responsible for training and supervision of the Contract Coordinator as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree - equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Minimum of five years of contracting experience.

Required Licensure and Certifications

One of the following is preferred upon hire or required within first year of employment:

  • Certified in HC Compliance (CHC), Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP)

  • Certified in Healthcare Research Compliance (CHRC)

  • Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC)

  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)

  • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)

  • Certified Health Professional (CHP)

  • Certified Coding Specialist - Physician-based (CCS-P)

  • Certified CodingSpecialist (CCS)

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

  • Registered Nurse (RN) OR Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN)

  • Paralegal, Juris Doctorate (JD)

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training

  • Judgment and Analytical Abilities: Must be able to use independent judgment in interactions with others, knowing when it is appropriate to escalate issues to Manager, Contract Administration

  • Contract Law: Has knowledge of general contract principles and practices, particularly with respect to healthcare operations.

  • Communication: Ability to effectively present information and respond to common inquiries or complaints from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Must be proficient in use of G Suite, Google Workspace, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and the Internet.

  • Ability to:

  • read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmentalregulations.

  • write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

  • define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding physician self-referral, fraud and abuse, and tax exemption.

Pay Range

$29.16 - $42.28 /hour
