Summary of Role:

This role at our 200mm wafer fab in Essex, VT, will maintain and support Metrology / CFM equipment readiness. This schedule will be on days (Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm) supporting our equipment in this area with the following essential responsibilities. This position is fully onsite. Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform extensive technical troubleshooting of on CFM / Metrology toolsets.
  • Set standards for performing preventative maintenance (PM) - review and update maintenance procedures and checklists
  • Set requirement for technical training
  • Train and coach AWS technicians on standard methods of PM
  • Implement engineering changes and updates for maintenance across AWS
  • Troubleshoot and upgrade of equipment ensuring minimal downtime
  • Perform periodical auditing of standard work across AWS
  • Propagate standards for downtime data metrics in maintenance systems
  • Set and sustain standards for tool/equipment organization (ex. labels on equipment parts, lighting, etc.)
  • Perform or provide coaching for resolution of complicated equipment issues
  • Develop standard procedures covering diagnostics and troubleshooting on common/repeat unplanned failure modes.
  • Lead structured problem-solving activities including data analysis, Long Term Down root cause identification, solution development and implementation
  • Expert on equipment performance data: what is normal v. abnormal. (ex. SPC, Brookside trends, etc.)
  • Understand equipment downtime Pareto, own reduction of detractors
  • Periodically review consumables and non-consumables inventory, validate min/max levels
  • Identify obsolete parts and develop alternative solutions
  • Develop and optimize refurbishing loops
  • Provide Key Performance Indicators.
  • Analyze and monitor technical charts / alarm trends.
  • Drive equipment improvement plans and projects
  • Ensure and follow good safety practices and custody of tools, equipment and other properties
  • Work and collaborate on other team projects and/or assignments as needed

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education - Associate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Technical related field. Equivalent military experience applies.
  • Experience - Minimum 5 years of work experience as a level 4 technician, or equivalent, on Metrology / CFM toolsets
  • Teamwork and collaboration across Equipment Maintenance, Engineering, Production teams, and support groups.
  • Skills - Demonstrated excellent troubleshooting skills, subject matter expert on Metrology / CFM toolsets fleets, recognized as a resource across the organization, structured problem-solving capability, organizational and communication skills, demonstrated collaboration and teamwork
  • Strong collaboration with the Electronic Repair Center / Global Parts Solution rebuild shop and SM to drive GF self-sufficiency
  • Self-motivated, independent with mentoring personality and excellent training skills
  • Strong and effective communication skills, including technical documentation expertise
  • Demonstrated people leadership and project management experience
  • Understanding of engineering practices - troubleshooting, standardization, change management
  • Fluency in English Language - both written and verbal
  • Physical Capacity Demands - Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, standing / walking for long periods of time, wearing cleanroom suit and PPE as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education - Associate\'s degree in a technical and/or mechanical related field.

Experience - 5+ year\'s relevant experience in semiconductor manufacturing.
