PREMIER PERFORMANCE LLC Product Development Engineer in EXPORT, Pennsylvania

 

Job Title: Product Development Engineer

*Schedule: *Full Time - Exempt

Compensation: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 DOE

Location: Export PA

 

JOB SUMMARY

The Product Development Engineer is responsible for researching, planning, and designing mechanical products, systems, and accessories related to automotive applications in the Performance market segment.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Researching, designing, developing, and producing vehicles and components
  • Preparing cost estimates, design specifications, plans and drawings
  • Analyzing energy, environmental, and safety aspects of the planned project
  • Predicting vehicle or component behavior under different conditions using computerized models
  • Developing testing procedures
  • Investigating product failures
  • Analyzing, interpreting, and condensing technical data into reports or presentations
  • Supervise technical staff
  • Work closely with other types of engineers, such as civil, electrical, aerospace, chemical, and industrial; work with other internal departments such as Marketing and Legal
  • Other duties as assigned.

     

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering plus 2+ years mechanical engineering experience utilizing CAD (Solidworks) (preferred)
  • Associates of Science/Technology in Mechanical Engineering OR equivalent combination of experience and education within the automotive industry.

     

* JOB REQUIREMENTS*

  • Experience working for a start-up/small company's engineering department is a plus
  • Experience working on automobiles and having extensive knowledge of aftermarket parts is required. Must also be proficient at working on cars and feel comfortable being in a shop environment
  • Designing and working with metal fabrication is strongly desired: Sheetmetal, Tubing, welding, etc.
  • Experience working with vendors, negotiating pricing, and seeking out new manufacturing partners strongly desired
  • Able to lift 50+lbs, and be able to efficiently and competently take apart and re-assemble vehicles.

       TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

Proficiency with SolidWorks software and reverse engineering software PolyWorks experience (preferred).
