Pennsylvania State Job Bank Lead Wireless Architect in Exton, Pennsylvania

Provide technical leadership in areas of virtualization, SDN, NFV management and orchestration (MANO), and multi-access edge computing (MEC); lead research in wireline-wireless convergence, service orchestration, and multi-access edge computing; lead projects in developing a NFV MANO platform for deploying and managing wireline and wireless services; lead SW development activities to implement service orchestration and assurance features such as network function modeling and onboarding, data collection and analytics, and closed-loop automation; document and write white papers, technical reports, specifications and conference papers; translate broad business and strategic requirements into actional technical requirements driving network architecture decisions; identify gaps in existing technologies and devise new solutions; lead member outreach activities, including proof-of-concept and demonstrations to gather additional requirements and plan project roadmap.

Requirements:  Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications or Computer Networking.  2 years experience in job offered or as Lead Architect, Senior Network Architect or any combination thereof.  Must have 2 years experience (may be gained concurrently with the above experience) in:

  • Software architecture and development
  • Open Network Automation Platform (ONAP), including onboarding VNFs and designing services
  • SDN and NFV orchestration
  • Virtualization environments (VMware and RHOSP) and implementations (VMS, containers)
  • Docker
  • Kubernetes
  • Helm charts
  • Java
  • Python

Must have working knowledge of:

  • Wireless core technology principles
  • Cable network architecture and HFC plant
  • Dimensioning and deploying on public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)

20% travel to unanticipated domestic and international locations. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience.
