Actalent Landscape Architect in Fairfax, Virginia

Description:

Our client is a top provider of land planning, land development engineering, and land surveying services. They are urgently hiring a Landscape Architect / Planner to join their team in the Fairfax, VA office. This is a long-term position with a ton of growth opportunities within the landscape architecture & planning industry. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Complete feasibility studies, yield studies, zoning analyses, due diligence checklists, and identify potential site constraints and remedies.

  • Preparing design guidelines, master zoning plans, generalized development plans, and conceptual and/or final development plans.

  • Assist in the preparation of design and construction drawings for both landscape and general site designs including layout, grading, and hardscape.

  • Collaborate with team members to guide and shape the design and delivery of projects of various scales and types.

  • Assist and provide ideas for enhancement in the development of conceptual designs using a variety of hand-drawn and digital techniques.

  • Progressively build and share expertise in design platforms such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Suite.

  • Provide graphic design, technical production, urban and landscape design, and site planning expertise for a variety of projects including but not limited to mixed-use residential development, streetscapes, parks, and other community facility design.

  • Research zoning codes, entitlement processes, and permit requirements to ensure compliance.

Top Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture or related

  • At least 2-5+ years of experience in planning, layout and grading design for conceptual plans, landscape design, preliminary plans, rezoning plans, site plans etc.

  • Experience in layout and grading

  • Experience in the process of putting together site plan packages

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, SketchUp, and/or Adobe Creative Suite
