Job Overview

The Facilities Manager is responsible for maintaining and improving the functional operation of the 160,000 Sqft facility. Directly supervises internal maintenance and janitorial technicians as well as oversees contractors and outside services as it relates to routine operation of the facility. In this hands-on role, this person will also execute the tactical aspects of security, maintenance, and project management of the building while adhering to all safety and regulatory (e.g. OSHA and EPA) requirements for operation.

A Day In The Life

Champion facility initiatives and project management with support of the company and senior leaders.

Manages team of Maintenance/Facility techs and contractors to ensure proper operation of facility.

Engage with everyone from all departments on facility needs and upkeep.

Abiding to safety requirements including Lock out Tagout, Chemical Management, Fall Prevention, Confined Spaces, Electrical Safety, 5S, Mobile Equipment, and lifting equipment.

Works with Lease Holder in the management of the building within the business park.

Acts as the liaison with the local fire & protection agencies.

Leads facility in contractor services including security monitoring and cleaning.

Works closely with Environmental, Health, and Safety department in compiling information to complete government reports and meet set deadlines.

Works closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Continuous Improvement team in the advancement of the facility and operation.

Participates in Job Safety Analysis & daily Gemba Walks for routine audits and hazard identification.

Troubleshoots issues and identifies proactive solutions for improvement to leadership team.

Responds to on-site emergencies and incidents, including those that may occur during off-hours.

Conduct regular inspections, preventative maintenance, and evaluations of facility equipment to determine installation or repair service needs.

Obtain quotations and write project proposals for approval and manage project to completion.

Executes and inputs data into Facility Management Software (Benchmark).

What will help you thrive in this role?

Minimum of five (5) years in the Facility Management field with 1-2 years manager experience.

Project management and large capital project execution skills necessary.

Possess the skills necessary to read, analyze, and interpret procedures and manuals.

Ability to read engineering drawings and understanding facility electrical and mechanical aspects.

Experience in planning and scheduling routine preventative maintenance of facility equipment.

Demonstrated ability to work on multiple tasks and projects while being detail oriented.

Exceptional analytical, planning, and creative problem-solving skills.

Features a strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Demonstrates knowledge of assembly tools, machinery, and general building equipment.

Ability to navigate multiple surfaces across campus (pavement, gravel, grass), ability to climb ladders/stairs to access roofs.

Ability to communicate technical requirements to both technical and nontechnical individuals

Experience in creating Gantt charts in Microsoft Project desired.

Understanding of EPA & OSHA regulations preferred.

Lean tools and root cause analysis experience a plus.

ERP system (SAP) experience a plus.

Digital Safety Management System (Benchmark) experience a plus.

Must be able to stand/walk or sit/type 10-90% of workday.

Occasional lifting required (up to 35 lbs.).

10% - 20% Travel

Bachelor’s degree in Facility related field, project management, or Engineering preferred
