This role requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of technical sales, pipeline management, and inside sales best practices. The ideal candidate will drive revenue growth, enhance customer engagement, and develop a high-performing sales team. S/he will have a strong background in B2B sales, team leadership, and industrial manufacturing while leading change and continuous improvement of practices and policies in Inside Sales.Key ResponsibilitiesSales Strategy & Execution• Develop and implement inside sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue and profitability targets.• Identify new business opportunities and expand market share within the industrial manufacturing sector. • Establish and optimize sales processes, KPI’s, and leveraging CRM and automation tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness.• Collaborate with marketing and product teams to drive lead generation and customer engagement.• Enhance the existing inside sales structure to optimize external customer experience, streamline internal sales support, foster cross-functional collaboration, and ensure scalability for future growth.Team Leadership and Development• Lead, mentor and develop an inside sales team, ensuring high levels of performance and motivation.• Set clear sales goals, quotas, and incentives to drive team success.• Provide ongoing training and coaching on industry trends, sales techniques, and product knowledge.• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.Customer Relationship Management• Maintain strong relationships with key accounts, distributors and OEMs in the manufacturing sector.• Ensure a consultative sales approach, effectively articulating product value propositions.• Utilize systems to track leads, sales activities and customer interactions.• Address customer concerns and resolve escalations to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.Sales Operations & Performance Management• Track and analyze sales performance, providing regular reports to Executive leadership.• Improve sales forecasting accuracy and optimize pipeline management.• Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to stay updated on solution offerings and customer needs.• Stay informed on industry trends and competitor activities.Key Competencies• Strategic thinking and problem solving.• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.• Adaptability to changing market conditions, coupled with a solid sense of urgency.• Collaborative and team-oriented leadership style.• Proficient in addressing underperformance and resolving conflicts through direct, respectful, and productive communication.• Focus on customer satisfaction and operational excellence.• Technological acumen to leverage modern tools, software, and systems.• Functional expertise in Sales.• Market and customer oriented. • Goal and results oriented. Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, industrial engineering or a related field.• 5+ years of inside sales experience preferably in technical industrial solutions with at least 3+ years in a leadership role.• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales in a B2B environment.• Strong knowledge of industrial products, manufacturing processes and distribution channels.• Experience with CRM software and ERP systems.• Proficiency in data analytics tools.• Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.• Ability to analyze sales data and market trends to make data-driven decisions.• Experience managing remote and on-site sales teams.WORK LOCATION: This position is located in New Jersey and reports to the Florham Park, NJ office. Incumbents of this position are required to work a hybrid schedule (3x per week in the office- Tues & Wed +1).LANGUAGE SKILLS: Proficiency in the English language both written and verbal is required. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Effective in gathering and analyzing disparate data elements as well as presenting information and responding to inquiries from groups of managers, customers, the general public and global colleaguesCOMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge and demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite—specifically Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.WORK ENVIRONMENT:The work environment characteristics described here represent those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The base salary range for this role is $145,000 - $155,000 plus participation in LAPP's bonus plan.
