We are looking for a Regional Category Buyer - LTL and Dray to join our Procurement (GP) team in Florham Park, NJ.

We are seeking a professional like you to contribute to the development, implementation, and strategic monitoring of the Package Transportation Less than Truckload (LTL) and Container Dray categories within the North American Logistics Procurement team. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, preparation and execution of Requests for Quotation (RFQ), contract implementation and monitoring, category management, leadership/contribution of projects, processing routing guide & rate updates, ad hoc analysis, etc. You will interact with Business Units, Distribution & Transport Operations, Lead Logistics Providers and Transportation Providers to bring end-to-end transportation solutions that will optimize costs, improve service levels, and support growth.

As a Regional Category Buyer - LTL and Dray, you create chemistry by...

  • Analyzing provider bids, contract nuances, supply chain costs, and service analytics to optimize procurement strategies and cost savings.

  • Overseeing the management of associated data to update rate worksheets, routing guides, contracts, and performance reports for better transparency and accuracy in procurement-related data. Additionally, you will provide support and guidance on carrier invoicing disputes

  • Working with business units to understand needs and communicate market outlook, including supply market structure, strategies of suppliers, pricing structures, opportunities, and threats. Based on that, you will prepare and execute RFQ’s, incorporating business unit requirements, driving bid events, negotiating with individual carriers, resolving post-bid issues.

  • Supporting the Regional Category Manager in strategy development and execution, (e.g. strategic goals, strategic options, implementation plans), executing Supplier Management by managing relationships with key suppliers, evaluating supplier performance, and driving supplier innovation.

  • Managing contracts, and determining appropriate actions, including informing relevant parties, addressing supply issues and acting as an escalation point for Non-Conformance Management (NCM) in Procurement.

  • Executing a Risk Management approach with appropriate actions and reporting performance results in the Savings system.

If you...

  • Have a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business, Transportation and Distribution or related fields

  • Have 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Procurement, and/or Transportation and Distribution (Import/Exports, Fleets/Freights)

  • Have contract negotiation experience

  • Possess robust analytical skills
