U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command Operations Research Analyst in Fort Cavazos, Texas

Summary About the Position: This Operations Research Analyst position is located at the U.S. Army Operational Test Command, Aviation Test Directorate (AVTD), with a duty location of Fort Cavazos, Texas. Responsibilities Serves as expert and mentor in the areas of requirement development, design, data collection, data reduction, data analysis, and reporting for operational tests or experiments using scientific methods. Performs systematic examination of test requirements and alternative courses of action in terms of effectiveness, suitability, survivability, and cost to help clarify relevant choices and their implications. Performs with a marked degree of professional independence and technical expertise. Provides expert judgment concerning the validity of assumptions and the criteria by which the chosen alternatives will be evaluated. Analyzes major phases of varied equipment/systems using mathematical models, matrices, instrumentation, modeling, and/or simulation. Designs, develops, and adapts statistical and other scientific methods and techniques. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Education Requirement for Operations Research - 1515 series: A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in operations research; or a bachelor's degree (or higher degree) with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. In addition to meeting the basic educational requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Assisting in developing operational test plans or evaluations; 2) Assisting with the collection, reduction, or analysis of data for test support processes; 3) Assisting in evaluating test methodologies; and 4) Writing test documentation of test findings and results. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02 or GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required specialized experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using specialized experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications Mathematical Reasoning Requirements Analysis Technical Competence Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. This position is subject to the NH-03 Senior Professional/ Evaluator/ Tester/ Analyst equivalent control point of the ATEC Control Point Policy at $134,435 per year (Includes locality pay). One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
