About the Position
The accounting clerk will be required to work 20-25 hours per week, Monday – Friday, during normal office hours, which are between 8:00am-5:00pm.
The accounting clerk provides support in a variety of areas including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, inventory, purchasing, front desk support, and bank reconciliations.
Major Responsibilities :
Perform monthly bank reconciliations in the accounting system and submit for review.
Match invoices to purchase orders/requests and receiving reports.
Gather and combine accounting documentation using Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Scan physical accounting records.
Submit vendor invoices and vendor payments in accounting system. Update related files as needed (credit card tracker, non-AP check tracker, use tax tracker, etc).
Submit monthly invoices to customers and follow up and report on accounts receivable outstanding items on a weekly basis.
Submit cash receipts in the accounting system.
Ensure business credit cards are cut-off for month end process.
Answer the front door when the front desk staff is unavailable.
Create a variety of documents, reports, and records.
Assist with annual physical inventory, as necessary.
Participates in meetings and attend training courses, as required.
Assist with the preparation and submittal of Forms 1099 to the IRS.
Participate in special projects as needed.
Technical Skills Required
Able to understand and learn specific accounting system processes, and resolve issues surrounding those processes.
Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel, Word), and proficient in Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Educational and Experience Requirements
Minimum of an associate degree in Accounting or Business
Demonstrated experience and success with detail-oriented tasks.
Expected pay: $20 - $23/hour, plus incentives
