Summary About the Position: Fort Gregg-Adams, Home of Logistic Warriors, is a US Army installation located near the Tri-Cities of Petersburg, Colonial Heights, and Hopewell, VA. Fort Gregg-Adams is south of Richmond, the Capital of Virginia. There are a number of important missions accomplished by the activities located here. The missions accomplished at Fort Gregg-Adams include combat and training development and the professional development of military personnel through various training programs. Responsibilities Develops and reviews other course materials including non-resident instruction, self-pace materials and other training materials as required to support the Army Sustainment University mission (ASU). Serves as a training specialist by researching, developing, writing, revising, reviewing and/or advising on the technical content of all course materials for Basic Officer Leader Course (BOLC). Performs independent research, evaluation, and development of technical information for inclusion in such materials as Program of Instruction (POI), special texts, and master teaching schedule. Researches and develops lesson plans, advance sheets, examinations, supplemental handout material, charts and training aids to include television scripts, training films, and models. Serves as a primary instructor for the logistics basic officer leader’s course covering a variety of Army logistical concepts and doctrine. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) assisting in creating, preparing, managing, and delivering blocks of instruction related to the organization; 2) instructing various courses and seminars in classrooms, conferences, lectures and other continuing education settings while following established lesson plans for effective learning conditions; AND 3) conducting research and identifying developments in training materials and other systems that support training requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, Logistics, Adult Learning and Leadership, Education, Supply Chain Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
