What you will be doing:

The ASSA ABLOY Sales Representative, Aftermarket role is a dedicated field sales position reporting direct-line to and through the local Door Security Solutions (DSS) Directors/Principals to the DSS Regional Vice Presidents and the Executive Vice President of Sales for DSS. The Representative will also have a firm dotted line accountability to and through an Aftermarket Regional Director (ARD) and the Executive Vice President of Aftermarket Sales for DSS.

The Sales Representative, Aftermarket role is responsible for cross-brand demand generation development and capture of ASSA ABLOY brand product sales (mechanical and electro-mechanical) within the targeted Aftermarket channel community including but not limited to targeted Wholesalers, Security Professionals and Systems Integrators. Aftermarket demand generation, project tracking, team collaboration and sales execution are critical to the success of the ASSA ABLOY Sales Representative, Aftermarket.

The successful Representative is responsible for crafting high-value localized aftermarket business development programs with their DSS associates and peers to discover and advance business opportunities and competitive conversions with end users purchasing and acquiring aftermarket products and services. An effective Representative will collaborate closely with all elements of ASSA ABLOY’s DSS business development teams, including, but not limited to: DSS Directors and Principals, Vertical Market Specialists/End User Representatives, Wholesale/Distribution Representatives, Integration Solutions Specialists (ISS), regional Intelligent Key Business Development Specialists and Electro-Mechanical Specialists to positively affect aftermarket revenue growth within the territory; and to establish/protect strong ASSA ABLOY brand loyalty within the targeted community.

Key areas you will contribute in this role include:

  • Cultivate consulting relationships with architectural design team influencers and specifiers

  • Identify and secure opportunities to prepare door and hardware specifications

  • Provide timely and accurate product information for use in commercial project specifications

  • Deliver targeted continuing educational programs highlighting new products, solutions, and design-assist professional services

  • Assist with product substitution and approval procedures and follow up to ensure specifications are held in the bid process

  • Utilize Salesforce.com as a customer relationship, project tracking and time management tool

    What we are looking for:

  • You are a self-motivated, organized individual with a passion for brand specific product promotion and specification

  • You are known for follow-up habits and driven to satisfy your client's needs and to deliver above expectations

  • You’re a strong communicator, active listener, and negotiator. You can work independently but believe in teamwork

  • Your background includes a College/University degree (preference for specialization in related curricula such as: architectural design/engineering/drafting, construction science/management, business, or similar)

  • Industry related experience in architectural representation, specification writing, or construction management, will be considered in lieu of degree

  • Working knowledge of Autodesk® Revit® or GRAPHISOFT® Archicad® is a plus

  • You have the ability to travel upon request within an assigned territory and able to perform responsibilities in a home office environment

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs of sample and display material for sale presentations
