Science Systems and Applications, Inc. Senior Systems Engineer in Fort Meade, Maryland

SSAI seeks a Systems Engineer, Senior Advisor to perform functions in support of a program located in Annapolis Junction, MD.

Additional responsibilities include the following:

  • Provide support to large-scale systems, major system elements, and/or interfacing systems.

  • Provide overall system engineering expertise in the architecture, design, development, requirements analysis, data flow, network design and/or implementation, or testing for the program.

  • Analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architecture to develop system requirements specifications.

  • Support cloud technology adoption, specifically the adoption of business tools into the cloud architecture.

  • Guide users in formulating requirements, advise alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies.

  • Review and draft white papers and technical marketing and training materials.

Required Qualifications:

  • Four (4) years demonstrated experience developing software with high level languages such as Java, C, C++, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Demonstrated ability to work experience with OpenSource (NoSQL) products such as Hbase /Accumulo, or Big Table

  • At least 3 years of experience developing software for UNIX/Linux (Redhat versions 3-5) operating systems

  • Experience in Python, K8 familiarity SA work with STE/STN

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with current polygraph required.

Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
