ArcBest Intern, Computer Engineer in Fort Smith, Arkansas
Job Description
The Intern, Computer Engineer performs a variety of tasks to assist the Engineering as well as Technology Research and Development teams. This may include, but is not limited to, assistance with circuit analysis and developing printed circuit boards and support firmware for a variety of embedded systems or special-purpose devices.
Responsibilities
Assist Engineering as well as Technology Research and Development on computer engineering related studies, designs, specifications, drawings, etc.
Identify, recommend, and implement solutions to logistics and computer engineering problems.
Draft and proofread various correspondence and communications.
Build, test, and troubleshoot computer systems within industrial machinery.
Research, order, and install replacement electronic/mechanical components.
Fabricate control systems and components for use within Tech R and D projects.
Program and build PLC systems to automate testing procedures.
Document wiring diagrams, schematics, and test procedures.
Other duties and projects, as assigned.
Requirements
Education:
- Pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, or other related field.
Experience:
Prior experience in electrical and computer engineering, preferred.
Experience with EDA software, required.
Computer Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Work Hours:
- This is a part time internship position starting in May through the summer that will average 30-40 hours per week. Typical hours will fall between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm during the summer months.

- This is an hourly position paid biweekly.
