Teradyne Technical Support Engineer in Frankfort, Michigan

The MiR (Mobile Industrial Robots) Technical Support team is in search of a dynamic and self-driven Technical Support Engineer.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with the team while also demonstrating the ability to work independently. Your primary responsibilities will involve troubleshooting cutting edge mobile robots, where you will be providing support and practical application solutions to our partners.

As a key member of our global technical support team, this position will have a hybrid work arrangement, operating from our office located in Novi, MI.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the optimal performance of our robots through the provision of top-tier and highly responsive technical support, setting a standard in the industry.

  • Develop and provide technical training and materials to our distributors and customers.

  • Work with cutting edge technology within mobile robotics.

  • Lend support to global applications whenever necessary.

  • Foster robust connections with our distributors and end user.

  • Deliver expert level communication, both written and verbal.

  • Handle urgent customer questions and prioritize their needs for efficient problem-solving.

  • Schedule and coordinate customer onsite visits, ensuring smooth logistics and customer satisfaction.

  • Analyze and interpret error logs to diagnose issues and determine appropriate solutions for robot repairs.

Basic Qualifications & Skills:

  • Knowledge of PLC control, programming, and understand "computer/networking" Wi-Fi knowledge is a plus.

  • Exceptional troubleshooting abilities.

  • Able to find and understand relevant technology and use it to develop the best solution for the customers and end users.

  • Outstanding customer service skills. Must be able to effectively communicate and influence customers at all levels.

  • The ability to multi-task and reprioritize as urgent customer issues arise and change.

  • Passionate about new technology and understanding how it can improve our products and processes.

  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills at an expert level.

  • Innately driven and self-motivated, taking pride in responsibilities and outcomes.

  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • 20-30% travel required. (US and Canada, and international as needed)

Education:

  • BS in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics, or CS) with 3-5 years, or comparable experience, with experience in robotics and/or industrial automation.
