Google Image Processing Engineer, Display Metrology, Raxium in Fremont, California
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Vision, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
4 years of experience working in an image processing/analyses or image segmentation technical environment, or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree.
Experience in building test automation frameworks and tools.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with GPU programming.
Experience with machine learning or advanced programming.
MicroLED displays pose several unique challenges for accurate response measurement. As an Image Processing Engineer, you will focus on developing and implementing advanced algorithms for image analysis, enhancement, and manipulation for microLED panel performance analysis. You will possess a strong theoretical foundation in image processing, coupled with practical experience in software development.
In this role, you will collaborate with multiple teams to develop metrology solutions for our next-generation displays. You will work closely with test development engineers and data consumers to ensure optimal image analysis. Test solutions must be effective in panel calibration and the computation time must be optimized to enable in-line processing.
Google's Raxium display group has established a revolutionary semiconductor materials display technology that enables new functionality in display products, bringing to users a closer and more natural linkage between the digital and physical realms in applications such as augmented reality (AR) and light-field display. With start-up roots and a state-of-the-art compound semiconductor fab in Silicon Valley, Raxium is seeking to build upon its engineering team with an aim to disrupt next-generation display markets.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Design, develop, and optimize image processing algorithms for various applications, including emitter registration and defect identification.
Implement and test image analyses for tasks such as object detection, image segmentation, and feature extraction. Document and code algorithms effectively.
Analyze and improve the performance of existing image processing systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate image processing solutions into larger systems.
