Aerotek Medical Assembler in Fridley, Minnesota

Job Title: Medical Assembler (Pilot Operator)

Job Description

Join our team as a Medical Assembler, also known as a Pilot Operator, at our R&D facility. In this role, you will engage in prototype assemblies and assist in building new product lines. You will collaborate directly with engineers and technicians to enhance and optimize our product lines. Initially, you will start in our packaging and testing area to gain familiarity with various parts, focusing on testing and final packaging phases. Training will include the use of a vertical reflow machine for testing purposes. As you progress, you will receive cross-training in multiple areas including assembly/operating and grinding, involving both cleanroom and non-cleanroom environments.

Hard Skills

  • 4+ years of medical assembly experience

  • Experience with hand tools (tweezers, pliers, crimpers, screwdrivers)

  • Ability to operate semi-automated reflow machines and flattener machines

  • Experience in soldering and light welding

  • Proficiency in using microscopes for detailed work

  • Experience working in R&D environments with engineers

Soft Skills

  • Troubleshooting

  • Ability to multitask

  • Adaptability to cross-train in different areas

  • Comfort with both standing and sitting for extended periods

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Fridley, Minnesota.

Work Environment

Our modern facility, built within the last 5 years, includes both cleanroom and conventional environments. The work setting is well-lit, open, and temperature-controlled. You will work alongside a team of about 10-15 including management, leads, assemblers, engineers, and technicians. The environment is not overly loud, and no hearing protection is required. You'll be part of a crucial R&D site that lays the groundwork for manufacturing processes at other facilities.
