Job Title: General Maintenance Helper

Job Summary:

EMCOR Facilities Services has an immediate opening for a General Maintenance Helper in Glendale, AZ. High quality standards is a must. The candidate must be able to work in a team environment and possess good oral and written communication skills, professional appearance, and good attitude required. Must be self-motivated and a self-starter. General handy man, Carpentry skills, replace ceiling tile replace and or repair locks, closures, repair walls, etc, painting, rubber base, carpet, and floor tile. Minor plumbing repairs unclog sinks toilets fix minor leaks. Electrical, replace ballast bulbs etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receives direction from supervisor via verbal or through work order/PM to perform basic maintenance tasks on site. And Performs work according to a schedule.

  • Replace light bulbs.

  • Maintains and repairs plumbing systems.

  • Maintains and repairs interior and exterior finishes of buildings.

  • Paints interior and exterior walls and trim, generally touch ups and repairs

  • Performs small projects as assigned.

  • Set up and take down events.

  • Operate scissor or boom lifts to replace light bulbs and to hang banners.

  • Ladder work required.

  • Communicate effectively with supervisor, customer, tenants and co workers.

  • Completes and submits accurate and timely paperwork. (time sheets, notes, Work Orders)

  • Manages time wisely and remains productive while working independently.

Education:

HS diploma or GED equivalent; Vocational Tech, Trades School or Military Occupational Specialty preferred.

Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or GED

  • 4 – 6 years related experience

  • Must possess a valid driver license

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization. Bi-lingual is Spanish is a plus

  • COMPUTER SKILLSProficient in Microsoft Office and email and will possess the aptitude to be trained in computer applications.

  • MATHEMATICAL ABILITY Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs

  • INITIATIVE ABILITY Identifies what needs to be done and doing it before being asked or before the situation requires it. Whatever it takes attitude to satisfy the customer.

Work Environment:

Hours of work are solely defined and governed by business volume and contract schedules.
