We have an immediate opening for aDryside Weekend Journeyman MillwrightinGrande Prairie. The successful individual will report to the Dryside Maintenance Team Leader.

Expectations for the Role involve a combination of preventative and corrective maintenance tasks, technical skill development, and adaptability to business needs.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preventative/Proactive Maintenance: Ensure equipment runs smoothly and efficiently by performing regular maintenance tasks.
• Corrective Repairs: Address and fix equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Technical Training: Participate in training as needed to maintain and improve technical proficiency.
• Clean-Up Duties: Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Support Reliability Improvements: Contribute to improving equipment reliability and Mill efficiency.
• Flexibility: Adapt to evolving business needs and priorities.
• Apprenticeship: Actively participate in the apprenticeship program for skill development and trade certification.
• Weekend Maintenance Shift: Full-time shift work during weekends.

Technical and Educational Requirements:

• Hold an active Journeyman Millwright ticket.
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in learning.
• Computer skills, particularly in SAP, and the ability to achieve competency in Process Logic Control (PLC) systems.
• Problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Experience or aptitude for equipment operations.

• A demonstrated willingness and ability to learn new skills as business needs evolve.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others.

• Behavior aligned with the company’s safety vision, policies, and site principles.
• Ability to work in extreme heat and cold.
• Ability to perform the essential job functions of the position, which includes climbing stairs, navigating catwalks, lifting up to 50 pounds, stooping, and bending over extended periods.
• Willingness to interface and collaborate with other trades, support groups, and resources (e.g., Electrical/Mechanical Reliability, Process Controls, Operations).
• Ability to work in a dynamic and sometimes challenging environment.

Preference Will Be Given To: Candidates with a strong knowledge of Grande Prairie Lumber operations. Proven technical and leadership skills.
