Job Type: Full-time Pay: \$17 - \$18 per hourr CLICK HERE to view the full job description and to apply!{target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"} Berkshire Food Co-op (\"BFC\") Wellness Buyers are valuable assets to the Wellness Team. They order and manage products for the wellness department, work and communicate with vendors, and make purchases based on the demand from the Co-op\'s owners while complying with the BFC Food Policy. Buyers are responsible for overseeing their department and supply needs, and determining what products will improve the department\'s sales numbers. They are committed to excellence in retail and service standards, ensuring smooth, safe and efficient operations, and curating exceptional customer experience. They work to achieve the collective goals of the organization and support the Ends, Vision, Culture and Values of the Co-op. Job Responsibilities: Specific responsibilities to the Wellness Buyer position include but are not limited to: Customer Service - Practices a total store approach to customer service, responds promptly to customer service questions and needs; appropriately utilizes communication methods (walkie, phone, etc.) when answer is unknown or to communicate with other Team Members - Is educated about BFC Wellness products, the BFC Food Policy, and is familiar with the store layout; providing customers with direction of where to locate specific items, utilizes communication methods (walkie, phone, etc.) when the answer is unknown Product Purchasing, Selection, and Production - Purchases, receives and stocks wellness products; assists with other Wellness team members with receiving and stocking products - Review invoices for accuracy with the assistance of the Receiving Coordinator and Center Store Leadership Merchandising - Plan and maintain attractive, fully stocked and rotated (and faced, where applicable) sections - Ensure that shelves and displays are regularly replenished and rotated according to current pars and inventory; follows the first-in-first-out (FIFO) rotation procedure and departmental & store standards of display production and maintenance Department Maintenance - Keep displays, department areas, and workstations are clean and orderly condition; reminds staff of department maintenance procedures and standards - Advise PICs of equipment repair or replacement needs; if broken equipment will affect business operations, communicate this to the store so they can effectively inform customers Financial Performance - Reviews margins, sales numbers, cost of profitability, etc. with Center Store Manager and Center Store Leadership team to understand market trends and analysis reports - Maintain records, including accurate shrink and purchase logs Qualifications / Skills - High School Diploma or equivalent - 2+ years of Wellness or relative retail experience - Strong customer service skills - Good negotiating skills to get the best goods for the correct prices - Outstanding sales abilities to sell items to customers - In depth knowledge of wellness, supplements and organic food/product information - Strong oral and written communication skills - Strong organizational skills with attention to detail - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurements, etc. - Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace - Ability to read and interpret documents like training materials, spreadsheets, reports and operating instructions - Ability to work both independently and as part of a team - Computer literate (Windows, Microsoft 360) with the ability to learn and train others in the use of new technologies
