City Of Greeley Intern I - IT Deployment Technician in Greeley, Colorado

JOB DESCRIPTION Hiring Range: $15.90 - $19.87 Hourly

Job Summary:

The City of Greeley is seeking an Intern I - IT Deployment Technician to assist the IT Department with deploying and retiring IT hardware in our branch or client environments. As an intern, you will report directly to the Client Services Manager, and will assist with physical installations, transferring of settings or data, installation and configuration of software, or training and support for PCs, Laptops, Printers and Peripherals. This position may be required to travel to other City facilities in Greeley and the Northern front range areas.

The position is a temporary position. The work schedule consists of Monday through Friday with flexible hours between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills:

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 18 years of age. Valid driver's license, with two (2) years of driving experience and a clear driving record in order to drive for the City. Knowledge of desktop hardware, preferably from an enterprise or business environment. Knowledge of software installation and troubleshooting in a Windows environment. Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment drug screening, Motor Vehicle Record check, and a background check. Preferred

Experience in PC assembly or repair preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Computer skills, including the ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and learn new software and systems. Ability to navigate multiple on-line platforms. Ability to present oneself professionally in appearance, demeanor, and effort. Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and stay on task when completing special projects and daily assignments. Ability to maintain a strong work ethic, positive problem-solving attitude, and enthusiasm for the work performed. Ability to self-start and take initiative in completing daily tasks and special projects. Essential Functions:

Configuring and troubleshooting of software and networks. Installing software. Installing printers/peripherals Diagnosing, repairing, and upgrading PC software and equipment. Imaging workstations for new deployments. Responding to customer inquiries. Record-keeping and managing assets. Supporting other departments as necessary, depending on workload. Working proactively to ensure that services delivery are aligned to the client needs. Delivering computers and/or printer orientations. Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Travel: May be required to travel up to 10% of the time to other City facilities as needed.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Safe to minimal hazards that are typically found in general office environment where there is rarely little or no exposure to injury or accident. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an intern to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of his job, the intern is regularly required to sit, talk and listen. Light to moderate physical effort that includes frequent standing or walking or maintaining arms and hands in the same position for repetitive tasks. Frequently works with light objects and light hand tools. The intern may need the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
