City Of Greeley Water Resource Administrator I in Greeley, Colorado

Salary Range: $61,500 - $73,543

Job Summary: The City of Greeley is seeking a Water Resource Administrator I to support the Water Resources Operations Manager. This role involves technical support, including the collection and analysis of hydrologic data and water rights administration, as well as assistance with managing water court cases. The position also aids in developing recommendations and policies for water resource management, planning, development, and conservation. The ideal candidate will handle decree accounting packages, data analysis, and other assigned duties.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills:

Minimum Requirements B.S. in Water Resources, Engineering, or a related field. 2+ years of experience in water resources planning, processes, and procedures, including river modeling and statistical analyses, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Colorado Water Law (water rights and administration). Experience with complex statistical and hydrologic analyses. Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in ArcGIS and Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Advanced knowledge in water resource management. Experience with public representation and engagement.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Strong communication skills for conveying complex concepts both verbally and in writing. Proficiency in using blueprints, schematics, and other visual aids. Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. Strong organizational and analytical skills.

Essential Functions: Analyze water resource demands using knowledge of water rights administration, water law, and water supply facility operations. Complete and submit multiple decree accounting packages. Assist in developing priorities and strategies for resolving water court cases. Improve efficiency of water resource processes. Represent municipal water interests to various groups, including public advisory boards, stakeholder groups, technical working groups, and professional trade organizations.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Work Environment Primarily a professional office environment with public contact. Frequent interruptions and inflexible deadlines. Extended periods at a fixed workstation. Occasional fieldwork at water treatment plants and within the watershed.

Physical Requirements Minimal physical effort typical of clerical work; primarily sedentary. Occasional lifting and carrying of light objects. Walking and standing as needed. Sufficient communication skills to convey information via telephone and in person. Vision sufficient to interpret computer screens and documents. Hearing sufficient to record meeting minutes and perform routine office tasks. Manual dexterity to accurately input, retrieve, and verify work assignments. Ability to remain in a sitting position for extended periods. Some fieldwork may be required.
