About the position:
We’re looking for a Project Specialist - Logistics who designs, develops, implements and/or maintains programs and/or systems that can have functional impact. Plans, coordinates, and conducts highly complex projects. Responsible for interpreting policy, evaluating existing methods/processes as required and developing new procedures/plans that are most cost effective. You will:
- Become a “Super User” for our transportation management system. This will mean the ability to book and schedule shipments to have an understanding when verifying and auditing invoices from our carriers.
- Reviews reporting, tracking, metrics and cost control of logistics and distribution to ensure optimized service at the lowest cost daily.
- Ordering supplies and setting up POs for ordering at our many warehouses. This will include keeping track of costs and all metrics.
- Prepare detailed reporting on the status and capacity of our finished good warehouse for executive review.
- Analyze current practices/procedures and make recommendations and/or decisions for change. Create processes and work instructions to meet departmental needs. Develop Logistics presentations.
- Assist and become a backup for our international, expedited and shipping coordinators. This is also to have a better understanding of the operations team’s functions for reporting and process improvements.
- Needs strong interpersonal, and project management skills as has regular contact inside and outside company where required to influence and resolve project related issues.
- Needs to be able to work in team environment and demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and dependability.
About the work Schedule:
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule based on experience and completion of orientation period.
About you:
- A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
- This is an entry-level position; no previous work experience is required. However, some previous project management experience is preferred.
It would be great if you had:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Some accounting knowledge.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Adobe skills.
- Logistics background.
About the total compensation package:
Salary - $58,500 - $70,200 per year. Compensation commensurate with selected candidate's experience.
Relocation - This position may qualify for relocation.
