THIEL COLLEGE Admissions Event and Special Projects Assistant in Greenville, Pennsylvania

Thiel College seeks a full-time Admissions Event and Special Projects Assistant. This person will assist in coordinating all aspects of the admissions campus visit program, as well as special projects as assigned by the VPEM, Director of Admission, and Admissions Communication and Campus Event Coordinator, including but not limited to recruitment, communication, and general office administrative duties.   Primary duties: • Maintains Admissions front desk welcome area while directing incoming calls, etc. • Plans, coordinates and participates in all aspects of enrollment management events including, but not limited to, Admission Open Houses, specialty events (Accepted Student Day, Academic Scholarship Competition days, Summer Orientations), virtual events and information sessions.  Will also coordinate individual campus visits under the direction of the Campus Visit Coordinator.   • Participates in developing new events as agreed upon by the VPEM and Director of Admission and Campus Visit Coordinator.   • Develops surveys for all events and summarize feedback into improvement initiatives.   • Monitors budget of all expenses related to each event and present to management as requested.   • Works with the Admissions Communication Coordinator and Office of Marketing and Communication regarding emails, website content and publications to promote campus visit event programs and event attendance. • Assists the Communications and Campus Visit Coordinator with data entry as needed. • Performs other duties as requested by VPEM, Director of Admission and Communication and Campus Visit Coordinator  

Education and Experience:  Bachelor's Degree is preferred.  Event planning experience is preferred (prior experience in a higher education setting is a plus).  Excellent organizational skills, as well as superior interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.  A desire to work closely with all offices across campus.  Effective problem-solving skills.  Computer literacy with Microsoft office, google sheets, and spreadsheets is required.

Essential Job Functions: Ability to think on your feet and problem solve as needed.  Act as a liaison between the campus special events office, food service, facilities and environmental services departments to ensure successful visit day events.  The employee will be expected to perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.   Knowledge Skill and Abilities: Knowledge of: • Efficient office procedures and current technology.

Skilled in: • Interpersonal and written communication. • Exercising discretion and independent judgment. • Using tact, patience, and courtesy.

Ability to: • Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, initiative and independence. • Work with confidential and sensitive information.
