What impact you’ll make

As a member of the Process Industrialization team, you will be an active contributor to create, maintain, and execute the standard in how to develop and industrialize manufacturing processes using a team-based approach. This role sits within the Process Industrialization team and will lead new manufacturing process development. The focus will be developing and driving a standard, strategic, agile, but detailed approach to process development. Ensuring best practices are known, maintained, accessible, and scalable.

Job Description

What you’ll do

  • Execute manufacturing process development across CNC machining (mill, turn, drill, grind, EDM, edge contour), coating applications, blending, and other applications as required

  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of technical disciplines, analytical thinking, and technical experience to execute policy/strategy and roadmap initiatives

  • Execute hands-on development of new products and processes enabling a successful hand-off to the production team

  • Manage development iterations to meet customer needs with a strong focus on safety, process quality, and internal customer needs

  • Mentor and coach less experienced engineers across teams

  • Strong ability to identify and eliminate waste while coaching others

  • Engineering, standardizing, and optimizing manufacturing processes

  • Incorporate lean manufacturing principles into process development

  • Utilize kaizen activities for continuous improvement and collaborate with wider team on breakthrough initiatives

What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 10 years of manufacturing experience)

  • Minimum of 8 additional years of experience in Production Process and Equipment

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be willing to work 100% onsite at the GE Greenville Manufacturing site

  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment

What will make you stand out

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Machine Tool Technology

  • Demonstrated examples of developing and improving manufacturing processes

  • Demonstrated examples of applying lean principles to process development

  • Demonstrated proficiency programming multiple types of CNC machines (HBM, VTL, wEDM, sEDM, VMC, HMC, etc.)

  • Demonstrated proficiency programming CNC machines with NX-CAM

  • Strong familiarity with multiple machine controls including Fanuc, Haas, Okuma, and G&L

  • Strong familiarity with Renishaw probing processes and routines

  • Knowledge of machining high temperature super alloys used in gas turbines

  • Experience using Vericut (preferred) or other CNC verification/machine simulation software

  • Knowledge of post-processor development and debugging, preferably NX Post Builder or NX Post Configurator

  • Demonstrated proficiency interpreting drawing requirements and GD&T

  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills with above average shop math skills in trigonometry and geometry

  • Ability to drive innovation by implementing new ideas and screening new technologies to align with business objectives

  • Ability to effectively communicate to multiple levels of the organization, both verbally and through written communication

  • Ability to enact and drive change within an organization

  • Ability to productively manage multiple projects concurrently

  • Self-motivated and self-driven proven project leadership

  • Ability to accept new challenges, take ownership, and make decisions

Pay Transparency

The starting base pay range for this position is $103,100-150,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 15% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This posting is expected to close on June 25, 2024, or thereafter.

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
