Job Schedule: 9/80 Work Schedule – (Every other Friday is a non-workday.)

Job Description:

Please Note: This position is contingent upon an anticipated contract award to be determined at a later date.

Participates in the design of detail parts, assemblies, and installations for aircraft structures, mission equipment installations, and mechanical systems installations. Engineer applies basic engineering design and/or analytical theory with understanding of structural analysis for application to integrated system design.

Essential Functions:

  • Engineer will be responsible for research, development of layouts, preparation of engineering drawings, and coordination of design activities with Tooling, Flight Sciences, Manufacturing, and Production to ensure that designs meet requirements at minimum cost.

  • Designs will be accomplished using world-class, three-dimensional solid modeling CAD tools and work will be accomplished with senior-level design engineers.

  • Mechanical design engineers have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of tasks and aircraft systems on various aircraft platforms.

    Job Qualification Requirements:

    Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or Civil Engineering is strongly preferred. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship is required.

  • Good computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Be able to walk to and from the flight line, work in aircraft hangar environment and board/exit aircraft is required.

  • Must have ability and willingness to travel if necessary.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Engineering aircraft design experience.

  • CAD skills are highly desired.

  • Understanding of basic aircraft systems

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills is required.
