Job Title: Bilingual Front Desk ReceptionistJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Bilingual Front Desk Receptionist with a strong background in healthcare. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in reception or front desk roles and be fluent in Spanish. This role involves greeting and checking in patients, handling phone calls, maintaining patient records, scheduling appointments, and ensuring smooth office operations.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and check in patients, assisting them in accessing services in a timely manner.

  • Answer telephone calls, provide information to callers, route calls as appropriate, take clear messages, and contact appropriate staff to promote effective communications.

  • Maintain patient charts/records/clinic logs and database in the health center.

  • Schedule patients' medical and dental appointments, maintaining appointment books to ensure adequate provider coverage and smooth patient flow.

  • Request and verify all demographic and insurance information, including authorization and precertification.

  • Initiate follow-up calls as necessary and gather information for meetings to ensure well-organized events.

  • File and scan documents to maintain complete records regarding patients and office operations.

  • Perform duties related to patient registration and billing in the absence of other staff.

  • Audit office supplies and inventory monthly, document what is needed, and order necessary supplies.

  • Contact and complete work orders for the IT and facilities department.

  • Assist in distributing surveys and assessments.

  • Demonstrate professional, courteous, and respectful attitude during interactions with patients and guests of the health center.

  • Be on call for dental patients and transfer calls to the appropriate provider when necessary.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Front Office Coordinator and Health Center Manager.

  • Update the MSDS book and Q.A. manual.

Essential Skills

  • Bilingual in Spanish.

  • At least two years of reception or front desk experience.

  • Healthcare background .

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated computer skills including typing.

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and deal calmly with individuals under pressure.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or Business Institute Certificate.

  • Prior administrative/executive assistant experience preferred.

  • Exposure to or experience with medical terminology and physician billing practices.

Work Environment

The work environment is a busy healthcare setting where the receptionist will work closely with the office coordinator. The role requires professionalism, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
